ABOUT US Diocese of Steubenville Archive, Steubenville, OH. Our Wintersville Catholic parishes are made up of Blessed Sacrament and Our Lady of Lourdes Churches. These two individual parishes share the same clergy and parish office. Blessed Sacrament was founded as a parish in 1948. The original church was destroyed by a fire in 1974 and was replaced with the current church in 1976. Our Lady of Lourdes parish was founded in 1957 with the church built in 1963. Two unique features of our parishes are our portraits of St. Carlo Acutis and St. Bernadette Soubirous (with Our Lady of Lourdes). These images of two young saints, representing our two parishes, were painted by local artist Amber Knorr and unveiled in 2024. Many parishioners generously donated to make this project a reality. St. Carlo is pictured with a laptop, a bible, and a rosary - along with a soccer ball and a PlayStation controller. These all represent his use of the Internet to share the good news, especially about the Eucharist, which is pictured in our monstrance above him. St. Bernadette is shown kneeling, looking up at Our Lady as she appeared in Lourdes in 1858. She is surrounded by roses native to the region. See More

SACRAMENTS HOLY BAPTISM Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church, and made sharers in her mission. Since Baptism is not a private celebration, but an incorporation in the large community of the Church, Baptisms are celebrated after Mass. HOLY MATRIMONY Holy Matrimony, the intimate community of life and love, has been established by the Creator and is endowed by him with its own proper laws. God himself is the author of marriage. The vocation to marriage is written in the very nature of man and woman as they came from the hand of the Creator. In the Catholic Church the celebration of marriage takes place during Holy Mass, because of the connection of all the sacraments with the Paschal mystery of Christ. RCIA (The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) RCIA is the rite by which newcomers to the Catholic Church may receive the sacraments of Christian initiation- Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist; which lay the foundations of every Christian life. The faithful are born anew by Baptism, strengthened by the sacrament of Confirmation, and receive in the Eucharist the food of eternal life. By means of these sacraments they thus receive in increasing measure the treasures of the divine life and advance toward the perfection of charity.

Blessed Sacrament Men's Club These men take care of many maintenance projects, organize work parties, and are responsible for our life-size outdoor Nativity scene. Men of St. Joseph A community of men who discuss the upcoming Sunday's readings. When: Tuesdays at 7am in Upper Sargus Hall Wednesday Bible Study An opportunity to study Scripture with your fellow parishioners. When: Wednesdays at 9am in the Parish Rectory Seven Pillars of Freedom A parish accountability group for Catholic men who are struggling with pornography is available at Blessed Sacrament Parish in Wintersville.
